Financial Advisor and Head of Portfolio Management
I entered the financial industry back in 2008, during one of the worst recessions in history. This was a tremendous learning experience, and helped me to establish the direction I wanted for my career – to educate and help people.
I began on the investment research side, learning the ins and outs of the capital markets and becoming well-versed in technical analysis. The knowledge I gained ultimately prepared me for my role here at Paragon, where I am responsible for managing client assets, designing investment strategies, and advising clients around financial planning matters.
My typical work day revolves around helping our clients make progress towards their goals. Empowering them with the education and guidance they need to feel confident around their finances is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my job. I strive to understand each client’s individual situation and priorities to deliver advice in a personalized manner. This work is not a one size fits all!
I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business from Virginia Tech, with a Major in Finance and a Minor in Global Business. I also hold the following licenses: Series 7, Series 63 through LPL Financial, Series 65 through Paragon Financial Services, and Insurance (Health, Life, and Annuities).
My first professional role was as a Research Analyst at Dorsey, Wright & Associates, the largest technical research provider on Wall Street, where I worked from 2008-2015. The firm was acquired by Nasdaq in 2015, and I was able to transition into an Asset Management Research role within their Global Information Services division from 2015-2018.
During this time, I traveled the country extensively educating other financial advisors on portfolio management. I was able to see thousands of advisor practices nationwide, giving me a unique perspective and a deep awareness of the way I want to work with clients. My decision to join Paragon in 2018 was an easy one. I was impressed by the way they deliver a comprehensive and personalized experience for their clients.
I have a strong passion for helping people work towards real financial independence so they can focus on living and enjoying their life.
I married my husband, Mark, in June 2019. We have one young son, Nate, who is the joy of our lives and keeps us on our toes. We both grew up in the Richmond area, and are lucky enough to have our parents, siblings, 3 nieces and 2 nephews all in town as well.
In my free time, I love to travel and discover new places near and far. I’ve been fortunate enough to visit 14 different countries (a favorite having been South Africa), but that leaves many still to go! Closer to home, I enjoy taking advantage of Richmond’s booming restaurant scene, and love to dine out – whether trying new spots or repeating the favorites. Some of my happiest times are spent enjoying the company of friends and family, especially near the beach.
